Def Neon at The George

Our annual George bash will be on Friday 16 February. Once again, Sharrock will get his cahon out, accompanied by me and Will as a couple of unconvincing Val Doonican impersonators. It works.

It will be the fourth consecutive year we have staged a February gig at the George. Each time we have brought other bands or soloists from elsewhere to join the party, many of them for their first gig in St. Helens. This time, our guests are going to make the party: Def Neon, from North Wales.

We played with them in Conwy late last year, and were thoroughly impressed. They blend electro, rock, pop and punk, giving a powerful sound with a strong 80s feel (think 'high octane aerobics soundtrack'), delivered with confidence and energy. They are so much fun that we are going to play before them, so we can enjoy their set to the full. You can find our more about them here.

We will be on at 9ish, followed by Def Neon at 10.30. Disco Dave will entertain us around the edges, culminating in the much-anticipated Belinda Carlisle slot in the wee hours. It is free to get in, though you may be given the opportunity to donate to a local charity (St. Helens Mind).

Meanwhile, we resume rehearsals this Saturday, at Eiger Studios in Leeds. Once we have remembered which end of the instruments we are supposed to hold, we will get back to working on songs for our forthcoming album. More on that in a subsequent post.
