Salty Dogging it

We played at The Salty Dog in Northwich on Saturday. As usual there, we had a bloody good time. Bundie et. al. got the news a few days ago that the pub will be listed in the next edition of The Good Beer Guide. That would be a big achievement for any pub, but for one that has only been open for a year and a bit it is quite remarkable. Congratulations to all concerned! (It is also the only gigging pub I have come across on our circuit that stocks Jever Pils as standard - that alone is worthy of a Mention in Despatches.)

Saturday night was also a landmark in that it was the first time that we (two of us, anyway) have slept out in our new van. The 'bedrooms' are configured differently from those in our previous vans, and may present a challenge when all three of us are checked in for the evening. The stereo works though, and the seats are easy to clean.

Bryan Spink kindly videoed a couple of tunes from our set: 'Forever' and 'Beautiful Dreamer (Part I.)'. We are going to record proper demos of them, and two other new ones ('Got, Got, Not Got' and 'World Without End') with Boothy at Kesbri Studios in Bolton this Friday night. In due course they will be joined by another dozen or so songs for our next album, out next year.

The recording session will serve as a warm up to our annual bash at the Rondy in St. Helens, which is on Saturday. I'll post about that in the next couple of days.

All the best,

Ste
